This program offers a place where children ages 8-12 years old can come together in a small group setting to target social language skills.
It is led by two speech-language pathologists and is divided into two sessions during the school year. Each session meets Wednesdays from 5-5:45 p.m.
Session 1
Sept. 2-Nov. 18, 2026
Topics include body language, personal space, tone of voice, visual referencing, identifying feelings, empathy, and positive thinking.
Session 2
Feb. 3-March 10, March 31-May 5, 2027
Topics include starting and joining a conversation, understanding the topic, making connected comments, and understanding ideas that help and hinder a conversation. Additional targets include advocating for yourself, handling bullying, giving and receiving compliments, and more.
