SIBSHOPS peer support groups enrolling now

United Services for Children is beginning a new session of its SIBSHOPS program. SIBSHOPS is a workshop for children ages 6 to 12 years who are brothers or sisters of children with special needs. SIBSHOPS gives siblings a better understanding of their families. In the workshop, they will find friends who will listen. They will learn ways to express their feelings and ask for what they want, SIBSHOPS gives children the chance to discover their own special qualities and be a star.

SIBSHOPS are lively celebrations of the many contributions made by brothers and sisters of kids with special needs. SIBSHOPS are an opportunity for siblings to get peer support and education within a recreational context.

SIBSHOPS meet the third Wednesday of each month from 6 p.m. to 7: 30 p.m. For enrollment information, or to be added to the SIBSHOPS mailing list, contact Suzanne Salmo at (636) 926-2700 orĀ ssalmo@unitedsrvcs.org. A registration fee of $25 is required at the time of enrollment.

If you are interested in SIBSHOP JR for kids ages 3 to 5 years, or TEEN SIBSHOP for kids 12 years and older, please contact Suzanne Salmo for more information. These groups are currently in the planning stages.
